MBNA missed payment procedure

I was away over Easter - on a boat - (not a yacht!), and between trying to get to a post office and the opening hours etc. I ended up making the payment to my mbna credit card on the day it was due rather than before as I would usually. This in turn polls overnight to reach mbna the following day, therefore 1 day late.

Does anyone know definitively whether this shows up as a late/missed payment on my icb rating or whether a period of grace applies? I don't want to have to request my icb again as I just got one a few weeks ago and I want to apply for a mortgage soon so a missed payment won't look good. Neither do I want to rely on what I'm told verbally over the phone by the mbna call centre who I've found less than accurate in the past.

Thanks a lot.

hi struggling

There is a similar post here, it won't go on your report unless you are three months in arrears.

Thanks very much Cashier, however I don't see the answer in that post. There is no mention of MBNA and I'm not interested in when an account is 'charged out' but when the missed payment is recorded. My payment was due on 22nd April and paid on 22nd April but not received by MBNA until the following day 23rd and a late payment fee was applied.

The next bill was issued on 25th April and does not show the payment, but the payment did show online on the mbna site as the 23rd April.

I don't have any real issue with the late payment fee, rather I'm concerned that if the payment is not credited when the bill is generated, then it is automatically recorded with the monthly icb return.

So it's really a technical question for anyone with any inside knowledge of mbna systems.

Thanks
