How did I not know about this majestic item before? It is a must have for anybody with a patio, deck, garden furniture, gates, doors, windows, garden pots, a bbq, etc etc - all of which get covered in algae, dust etc.

I had spent hours last week cleaning the wooden garden furniture with vinegar, bleach, washing gel and a scrub brush.

I looked around at my surroundings and I felt completely overwhelmed. I thought that there has to be an easier way - other than getting somebody in to do it. I had asked 2 people who were no shows!

So, on Friday, I purchased the smallest, cutest-looking electric powerwash - it is a Nilfisk 110.3 PC extra that comes with a patio/deck cleaning head and car wash foam attachment.

I paid €79 in my local Arro Store. The best €79 I have spent this decade.

I was a bit afraid of it in the beginning - I was terrified it was going to damage everything it touched but It is the biz! The patio is shining. My garden gates were stripped bare - and are now re-oiled and looking like they should! The powerwash gave them a renewed lease of life.

It takes the drudgery out of the chore!

Once all my jobs are done - a lot done, a lot more to do - I will then look forward to visiting the "How does your garden grow" thread for inspiration and start thinking about what I will grow in my clean surroundings.

Any other powerwash converts on AAM?

Hi Marion,

Where did you buy this? I've searched online but can't find a match for the model you mentioned. I can see entries for a more expensive model alright though.

Thanks,
F

It's available on Amazon for £51.45 with free delivery to Ireland. However, it's the kind of item I'd prefer to buy locally for ease of return in case of problems.

And yes, they are the shizzle. I'd try using ours on the dog, but he won't hold still.

Jez Marion you should market these! I'll have to get to my local Arro and hopefully they still have it in stock. I get a bit of a kick out of the shiny gleam from a good auld bleach and scrub myself but yes I know what you mean by overwhelming when faced with the 'still to do' list! Looking forward to having a splash with it!

Splash.

Just ordered this Nilfisk myself for £59.99 -Very well reviewed.

Comes with the extra patio cleaner.

Interesting. Some years back I purchased a Karcher that was only marginally more powerful than our garden hose. It wouldn't remove the dirt from our car so we returned it. I think it cost over €100.

Hi Marion,

Here's your sister addict. I have to be careful with ours though because it can even remove paint from walls. I mainly use it for cleaning the cobblelock drieway but it removes the sand too

I'd try using ours on the dog, but he won't hold still.

You could use it on the wife and kids, think of all the money saved on expensive showers ;)

I find it's the only thing that really removes all that chimney soot, Sue Ellen.

Leads on to the story of the insurance claim where the homeowner put the brushes down the neighbour's chimney pot by mistake and destroyed their newly decorated sitting room  (or maybe it was the Doc with his powerwasher) :D

God dammit, Marion, I spent all of €6 yesterday on a car wash. If only I'd known that you'd purchased you new toy and were looking for little projects.....! :(

Hope it works out well for those who purchase it. The guys in the ARRO store put it together for me as well. But it didn't look particularly difficult to do.

RMCF that is the one.

Here is a video of it in action:

Splash - don't forget the wellies :)

Just watched the video. Is that the Doc by any chance? Not exactly how I'd pictured him! ;)

Oh that's such a shame Lex ... mind you, I haven't got around to doing my own yet. Too many jobs, too little time. The deck beckons! Another great day.

No, I suspect the Doc is much better looking.;)
