Apparently FG said in election there would be 12 junior ministers! I wonder.

FG always claimed they would reduce the number. Apparently there will be 15 though. Surprise surprise.
 
Dont forget that its Coalition Government with Labour, who are less enthusiastic about cuts in public sector jobs.
 
Big difference between proposing to do something over the term of the next government and doing it in the very first day of term! Also as has been pointed out they are in coalition now so it won't just be FG that have the say in this matter.

Not really. This was the opportunity to do it. To do it going forward means sacking three junior ministers which is politcially very difficult to so. FF was in coalition as as well so they didn't have total say in the matter either but that didn't stop FG going on about what a disgrace it was and how pointless some of the roles were.

I am not having a go at FG but I have a suspicion that when it comes to political reform, this is going to be a sign of things to come.

I reserve ire on this. The Programme for Government involves the merging of a few authorities etc, so I wonder how the different Ministries will look and what the make up of the new Junior roles will be, but I think it a bit early to be too angered as it hasn't been announced just yet.
 
Well, I was right 15 juniors but I forgot to mention the new one SUPER JUNIOR!!

It just goes to show that not a lot will change with the new line up and that is sad.

A depressing bit of fortune telling. All were right to be annoyed.

And we also have the excuse that it was the Labour Party who wanted the 15. Well I suppose we've never had a majority party trying to blame the junior partners before...

Mind some cad on Broadsheet.ie did note that mabye Enda meant he wanted 3 less FF ministers.
