Hey there, I'm trying to find the VAT rate on a new product and I'm having trouble finding anyone in the revenue who knows the answer. I've made a few calls and they all direct me back to my local office (and they don't know)
There must be a specific department does anyone have a number?

Thanks :)

What kind of product? Irish VAT is 21% on goods and services, 13.5% on repairs.

Thanks guys. It falls between 2 categories and it is important that it falls into the 0% rate.

The relevant section of the VAT act seems to be
Para(xii)2nd Sch

If I could get hold of this it might help me.

The people that answer the phones at Revenue are junior staff. You can a) either send in an e mail and you should get a proper response (it will go up the line) or b) ring the interpretations office

Thanks Wind Up, not sure what I'm doing wrong but when I click on that link I can see up as far as paragraph (x) of Schedule 2 and when I click on "next" I get on to schedule 3.

Kenny - how do I get hold of the interpretations office?

Paragraph (xii) subparagraph (b) excludes from the zero rate, amongst other things, bottled water and certain other drinks (e.g. sports, isotonic and similar drinks), and drinkable products made from fruit or vegetables.
