When Irish eyes are crying!!!!!!!!

Joe Duffy gave it a mention on his show earlier. He's very well read in fairness. I thought Vanity Fair only had Ralph Lauren ads in it...

LOL.:D

The journalist was interviewed on some radio programme last week/the weekend, it might have been Marian Finucane. He has done a series of articles in different countries and is very well known. Interesting fellow. Good article and I thought very perceptive and insightful.

A common misperception...some excellent articles in Vanity Fair..super one last month about big wave surfing. I like their ones on Family Feuds and The Hamptons too..check out their archives. Anything listed as a Feature is usually 4-6 pages long. You can "view as a single" page too if you want to paste into Word which is handy.

they are discussing it again today on Joe Duffy. They have a guest on saying that Ireland is becoming like a third world country and that "we are becoming like Zimbabwe"
Seriously, how could we be compared to Zimbabwe??!!

That article made me very sad...very sad that we have all (eggcept for 1) have stood idly by. At the very least a march around Stephen's Green should have happened with everyone booing as they passed Anglo.

Exactly. They get a lot more sunshine than we do.

It could be an idea to put that article on the leaving cert curriculum.

Hear, hear. Young students need to study it to limit the possiblity of it ever happening again. Scary stuff - particularly the merrill lynch bit, where the guy's article was removed and then he was let go, just because he discovered and published the truth. Interesting too that the Indo wouldn't publish Morgan Kelly's articles. All in all a distressing read.

I think that the powers that be have finally quelled any chance of revolt from most of the world. They gave them plenty of things to occupy their minds (be it internet, big TVs, 800 TV channels 24/7/365, iPhones, Facebook, footballers, soaps, Jordan, Kerry Katona, Gok Wan, tabloids, etc etc) and succeeded in turning them into sheep that do as they are told.

The days of revolt are coming to an end. Ireland has already been conquered.

Just read the Vanity Fair article. Compulsive reading to say the least. I learned nothing more than I already knew but it is no harm to have the whole debacle brought to our notice again.

I don't know if the bit about cars abandoned in the short-term car-park in the airport is true, but I presume it is.

I hope some of these "geezers" get whats coming to them e.g. prison.

The bit about cars being abandoned is true. Usually bangers belonging to east europeans.
