If you live anywhere close to the RDS, the bride of the year show is on next weekend. I saw in yesterdays Sunday World that a lot of travel agents have special offers for honeymoons the duration of the show.

Lake Garda is lovely. Fly to Bergamo with Ryanair and onward by train or same airport to Lake Como and stay in Bellagio. Have done both one after the other.

Italy a great choice. We did Rome for a week and Sorrento for a week. Lots of interesting day trips / sea trips to take in Sorrento while also relaxing if you please by pool.- Capri, Pompei, Positano Amalfi Coast.

I agree with maureen - Italy is the place to go.

Check out [broken link removed] This is a company we have used for holidays in Rome, Sardinia, Tuscany and Ischia, and can recommend for both price and quality.

I should however emphasise that we live in England and I don't know about flights etc from Ireland to Italy.

thanks guys looks like italy leading the show.
our budget is approx E1500 maybe more but as i said can only go for week.
If i we had 2 weeks my OH would want to go to oman.
anyways ill let him know italy seems the place and let him work it out!!!!

If you're based in Dublin, why not visit http://www.holidayworldshow.com/ to get some ideas and to get excited about where you're going.

There are so many lovely places to go and if you only have a week then you have to choose carefully. Austria is another beautiful country with magnificent scenery. Switzerland and Germany also and all very accessible. I must admit the food in Italy swings it for me, every time...that and the wine!

You have loads of options and mainland Europe should still be warm. Its a very special time for you both so spend time choosing where you go and really enjoy it.

Congrats!

A med cruise, best of both worlds, cruise by night and have breakfast in a different country each morning, a bit of sightseeing in whatever port you are in and lie out on deck in the afternoon/evening for some sun. Food is only fab. Brilliant value for money provided you don't book too many tours from the crusie ship.
