You have 2 options.
You can pay €50 to change flight to a time when you can travel.
or
You can sell the flight and the person who buys it can pay €50 to change the name. Just remember to price it low enough to attract someone to go through the hassle.
My wife is currently in France and became ill and was told not to travel for a couple of weeks as she had to have an operation. She is staying with her parents as she is from there. Aer Lingus basically told her to get lost. Quote 'thats why people buy travel insurance'!!
We have travel insurance but we just thought after having a letter from a hospital they would change her return date to anytime a couple of weeks later.
In part I can understand, but pretending to be better than the ryanairs for customer service is misleading. At least Ryanair are up front about giving you nothing and you wouldn't even bother to ask.
