Hi,

Looking at buying something in the country but not too far from a big town which has facilities. Came across this area (Rathfeigh) in Meath which seems close enough to Ashbourne and Navan, which is ideal as have family on the Northside so don't want to be too far off the beaten track. Going to take a drive up there at the weekend but I would welcome any thoughts or experience of the place.
Thanks in advance

I live in the Ratoath?Ashbourne area about 10 miles from there. Rathfeigh is an attractive looking place but it would be pretty rural. It depends whether you're into country living I guess. It wouldn't be for me though I have friends living in Skryne which is very close to Rathfeigh and they love it.

Is it true that you cannot get broadband in Skryne? I would think Rathfeigh would be rural all right.

Bad flooding out there the last few years during the torrential rain. Not sure if it is a perennial problem. Affected Skyrne area as well. I had problems getting through it in my car. Maybe you should just ask a local to see what they say

There is no problem with broadband in Skryne. Although mobile phone coverage drops in the Cabinhill area (on Ratoath Skryne Road.)
Ratfaigh area is huge. It spreads from Skryne / ratfaigh over to and practicly in Duleek.
The main flood mentioned was confined to the bridge near the school.

The flooding in Skryne was confined to the Colierstown Junction with the Skryne Road near St Cholmciles.
