Hi all,

My BMW116 needs for new run-flat tyres. I do only about 5000km per year which I guess means that I don't necessarily need top of the range product. I checked with the local FastFit outlet and they quoted me €160 per tyre.

Can anyone tell me if this sounds reasonable or alternatively recommend a supplier.

Thanks!

If you have any reason to go North then get them up there - I recently purchased 4 Dunlop Runflats for an X5 in Belfast for £205 for the front and £225 for the rear, fitted and balanced.
Best quote I got in the South was €365 front and €420 rears so no comparison but exactly the same tyres in both cases.

Why not just fit standard tyres if you are doing such low mileage.

I have a baby so trying to change a flat tyre on the side of the road isn't really an option plus, there is no storage under the boot liner to store a spare tyre (I believe that the batteries are there). I need the boot to put the pram in but otherwise, I would cousider it.

Could you recommend a garage? If the difference is that huge, I might do a day trip up north (I am in Kildare so it's not THAT far) and get my tyres done. I have read some very positive feedback for servicing a car up north so might consider that too. I paid €250 to get spark plugs and pollen filter changed down south recently and it broke my heart.

Get standard tyres and a can of this....

You'll be far more comfortable and have more cash left in your pocket too...
