Mac Applications launch failure

Hi,

I downloaded a few Mac updates the day before yesterday ( A security update, a Java update and an iTunes update) and since then I cannot launch any applications including iTunes. I get the same message each time - The application quit unexpectedly, Mac OS X and other applications were not effected. I did need to make space on my system to accommodate the updates so I may have deleted something in error. Any suggestions as to what I did wrong and how I can fix it?

Thanks.

Do you have the original disks for whatever operating system you are using? This does seem to be one possible solution to reinstall. Back up everything beforehand but it shouldn't delete stuff when you reinstall.

Before that however look here there are a few possible solutions. I know they are not so recent but they could solve your problem.

Hi,

No, I didn't delete any system stuff and by the looks of the discussion on the Apple site, I'll have to reload the OS. I back up daily so as long as I can find the disk I should be okay.

Thanks

Thought that would probably be the case. At least you keep backups which is always good. Hopefully you can find the disk.
