I dont know dublin that well if that is the case it is good value.

I would say so yeah, its smack in the city centre:

[broken link removed]

It would be considered quite a haughty establishment IMHO anyway

it looks like it could be O Callaghan on Stephen Green but it seems to have gotton bad review on trip advisior. Is it as bad as they are saying

Sorry I dont know anything about that hotel except its at the opposite end of Stephen's Green to Shelbourne, at the corner of Harcourt St.

The Shelbourne is 5 star and would not be a boutique hotel.
Boutique = small, unique i.e usually not part of a large chain like the Marriott.

It's O'Callaghans:

As a stylish Dublin boutique hotel, the O'Callaghan Stephen's Green is partly comprised of two restored Georgian houses and a modern Glass Atrium, providing a unique experience among luxury hotels in Dublin. The hotel overlooks Stephen's Green Park and enjoys one of the best locations among hotels in Dublin city, close to Grafton Street and within easy reach of Dublin's south side due to the nearby Luas tramway stop. This 4 star hotel in Dublin has 78 guest rooms and a variety of small meeting rooms for up to 50 delegates. There is a charmingly restored Georgian library within this Dublin hotel for guest's exclusive use

I do not like booking on lastminute.com. I prefer booking.com is clearer, there is information necessary and do not buy "top secret". I hate the "top secret":)

I love reading these reviews when I'm bored. As MOL says, the only people that write them are serial complainers. I laugh at some of the statements they make.

The point is you get to choose a mystery hotel, easily identified, at a low low price. You cannot do this with Booking.Com. Up to the individual I suppose.

I have written two reviews for trip advisor in the last month. Both were favourable. I am as likely to write a favourable review as a bad review. Last time I checked I'm not a serial complainer. In fact, just like contributing on this site, I wrote the review so others could benefit from my experience.

I booked a hotel in Killarney last Sunday evening for Sunday night using lastminute.com. It wasn't one of the top secret hotels. All details were there and the 4* was half the price of all the other sites I looked at. An absolute result. B&B for two in a 4* for €63!!

Lastminute.com has its uses like all the rest. I find it best to click in to 3/4 sites as prices can vary.

Then you get reviews like this from people who only ever have one review/contribution. Very suspicious.

From Tripadvisor.com

I just want to say big big thank you to all the staff for a lovely stay in the Dylan.
The Dylan exceeded my expectations.
It was a gorgeous room so thank for the upgrade, really loved it.
The same person checked us in and out and he was really good…tall young guy, forget his name.
He parked my car so that I would not have to get up early…so nice.
The beds are so amazing and everything in the room was perfect, powerful shower, sockets for hairdryer near mirror, big fluffy towels, lovely products...5 Star all the way!
Breakfast was gorgeous, staff so friendly and called by name, which is always nice….especially the crockery…love Villeroy & Boch!
Sat outside after breakfast before heading off and I could have stayed there all day.
Had a look at your menus and it is really fantastic value. Early bird is fantastic value with an extremely varied menu.

It was such a treat I have to say that I have a new favourite getaway!
Location is fantastic, so near the centre but perfectly hidden fro too much hustle and bustle. Perfect for romantic break or a girls weekend
My husband felt exactly the same and thinks that your cocktails are second to none.
The staff are so personal and there really is a lovely atmosphere.
I will honestly be recommending the Dylan.

WE WILL BE BACK VERY SOON.

When I submitted a negative a review on tripadvisor I got emails asking me to verify the review was truthful and honest. I assume that hotels do ask tripadvisor to verify negative reviews.
