I bought a dress in Blanchardstown yesterday for my holidays next Sunday. Just tried it on now for packing and have noticed they left an electronic tag on the side of it.

Is the only way out of it to drive back and get it taken off. It is considerably out of the way.

This happened us 6 months ago and we just went to our local clothes shop , and they removed the tag .

If you went to a local shop with your receipt there shouldn't be an issue. Shops have different systems and different magnet strengths so you might have to try a few of them!

Good Customer Service

I got on to the shop first thing this morning. I can't get the tag taken off in just any shop because as MissDaisy pointed out, there are different systems and apparently this one is quite old.

However, shop were very apologetic. Offered to take care of post bill if I post the item back and will swiftpost it back to me. The manageress even offered to drive to my work, pick up dress, take it back to shop, get it de-tagged and bring it back to me.

Very good customer service - it was very - right, our fault, really sorry about that. Let's get it sorted.

The kind of people I like to deal with.

It doesn't say much for the shop's security system, if you were able to leave the shop with an item still tagged!!

Glad it got sorted though!

It did give a very weak kind of bleep, but there was loads of people milling around going in and out and I just assumed it was someone else and carried on.

Pamela Scott's in Blanchardstown.

Anyone can make a mistake, it is how it is dealt with that matters.

And had you gone into other stores later in the day you could have set-off their systems which could have been embarrasing.

I bought a Ralph Lauren shirt in USA. When I got it back to Ireland, I discovered the feckin' tag. I tried 2 different shops in Galway where i know people working, but they had different systems.

I eventually resorted to a vicegrips, saw and wrench but ripped the shirt. The tag was located at the back of the collar.

It soon ended up in the bin much to my frustration.

It was the last stop allright. Saw the dress at the start of shopping but said no and had second thoughts and ran back to buy it before I went to the car, so went to no other shops after it.
