Ulster Bank UFirst Account Mortgage Discount

I was looking at this account today and saw the 0.2% discount they have for flexible variable rate mortgages. Then i looked through some old posts here and people say they have this applied to their tracker mortgage but trackers are not mentioned in any of the literature that i can see. Does this still apply as i have a ulster bank tracker mortage and am thinking of switching my current account to them aswell.
 
ya i got a discount on my tracker because i had a ufirst account..however i dont think they will apply it retrospectively but its worth a phonecall i guess
 
i think if you had a ufirst account at the time of taking out the mortgage you would have a leg to stand on, but as you dont have a ufirst as of yet they will probably tell you to have a nice day.
they currently do offer discounts for ufirst holders and will do so again as they are about to go into a huge mortgage lending campaign.
 
thanks for that. theres no harm in asking and i still have one up on them by having the tracker in the first place!
 
Just updating for you gunnerfitzy,

Checked with bank manager the other day and the discount only applies to a variable rate and not a tracker rate. If you had an account at the time you took out the tracker mortgage it would have applied but otherwise you would have to move your tracker to a variable to avail of the discount. Doubt we'll be doing that!
