Anyone else had a similar problem? I'm internet and fraud savvy. I haven't been phished or scammed in any way, but obviously someone has gotten hold of my CC details.

In each case, I received a call from AIB fraud centre asking me to confirm some recent purchases - which turned out to be fraudulent (e.g. over €1000 to Littlewoods catalogue, and an Aer Arann flight!).

I'd love to hear any suggestions you guys might have, because my riskiest online transaction has been a PayPal payment. I haven't let the card out of my site in a restaurant etc, so i can't figure out how it's happening :(

Ring them back and ask them to send you a new CC first. Things where people may find your info include
Where are your monthly bills being sent to ? If its an apartment then someone could have nicked a bill.
How do you destroy your monthly bills ? Green bin ? There are numerous cases of these bins being checked/stolen so shred or burn or soak in the bath after you've had one to destroy fully.
How did AIB fraud center identify themselves ? Did they ask you for your CC number ? (They should not have) There may be a slight chance that they are not the FC.

Hi, thx elcato, but I did make them give me a number to call them back. And my online banking did show that they had blocked the account - I'm in no doubt that they were who they said - and no they didn't ask for my CC number.

My problem is that despite shredding my bills etc, someone has not only got my CCdetails but also the 3 digit verification code on the back. I'm assuming this is the case as the card was used online to book a flight ...

I would be looking at where you have used your card recently. Perhaps a shop employee has obtained your details?
