we are looking for 2 or 3 bedrooms house in Dublin 12 area, turns out that there are many good looking houses with big yards, it's suitable to our small terrier. anyway, the most important thing is still the safety. i heard it's good neighbourhood around Crumlin and Drimnagh area, and we both work in city centre, thought it's convenient to commute.

any ideas on the safety issue? i have been robbed once and just cannot get away from it, that's why the safety issue bothers me this much.

thanks in advance.

yes both are nice areas but you need to b3e specific about what road you go for - search for previous threads on drimnagh (for more guff from me!). generaly both crumlin and drimnagh are quiet and safe, very well served by public transport, close to many amenities....but lets be honest here if you're worried about being broken into theres nowhere in dublin that anyone can recommend over another...get an alarm and a good set of doors and windows

by the way you seem to be looking at a lot of different areas - finglas, clondalkin , cloness, citywest, crumlin and drimnagh...fair enough but i suggest you narrow it down a bit - maybe try renting first and see how you like the area - you've covered a lot of space wioth all these areas!

thanks for your replies. yes, I have no idea where to live at the moment, kind of have a look everywhere, it's tough to find a good place with good value. But like you said, I should narrow it down, maybe Crumlin is the best choice. The area is safe and quiet with good price. i might want to try there. thanks again.

Digging this old thread up ..what about rafters road ...seems to get rougher the nearer the park you get

Yeaharound the park would be the rougher part of drimnagh. Lissadel, rafters, benbulben around the shops. Still tho think you'd really have to be unlucky to live next to any bogies......if it were me I'd be looking further up drimnagh in the old private end...posh part haha

Its an old thread at this stage but to add some colour for anyone else with a similar query in the future.

I have lived in Drimnagh for the past 5 years and have found it a quiet area, my experience is based on the end near Suir Road / Rialto. Transport to the city is great, lots of parks and schools in the area.
