door problem - vw golf

Hi all,
Have a problem with my 2004 VW Golf that hopefully someone will be able to shed more light on.
When I lock car with remote, most of the time drivers door does not lock and same when i open car. Also when car turned on can't open window, adjust mirrors etc (all controls on door) or the main problem can't open petrol tank. Has been going on and off for while but generally after few tries petrol tank would open but no joy today and getting v low on petrol so need it to open!

What I would like to know is:
1. Is there any way of opening petrol tank manually just so I can fill tank
2. Is door problem going to be expensive to fix? :eek:

Check the boot re tank problem - some cars have a manual release cord for the petrol filler cover, might be inside the lining where the filler is located.

Door problems sounds like wiring or connectors are loose/wet - probably simple enough fix if you can get access to it.

Tks for that!! Did you get your wife's car fixed? Need to get mine done, getting less and less that controls on door work and same problem with petrol now! Have been trying it anytime I get in the car last week or so but haven't been able to flick open the tank flap yet! V annoying and light went on today!!
