Hi, any ideas where I can check out villa rental at reasonable prices for Puerto del Carmen area? Looked at couple of sites but not sure which ones are genuine, probably all are but would like to know that people have used them and have had no problems with bookings, villa descriptions etc.

I used www.jamesvillas.ie to book a 2 bed villa in PdelC two years ago. It was off season so got the villa for a week for a very good price.

My dealings with James Villa Holidays worked out well for me and I'd definitely use them again if looking for a villa holiday.

Thanks, Just checked them out. Reasonably priced but we looking for 10days. They only 7 or 14 days from Dublin. Any other suggestions?

Hi. I used ownersdirect.co.uk in January and located a nice apartment along the promenade, near the Casino. Quite satisfied with arrangements which involved a bit of trust on both sides. You can also contact apartments direct even though they are in brochures. I liked the look of the Rosamar Apartments, about half way along the prom and set back a couple of streets. Slim

Slim, for what it's worth, I spent a week in the Rosamar apartments last month and was very happy with them.

Can you book villas through alpharooms? I thought I remembered seeing some on their site?

I went to a villa in PDC in Lanzarote last year and booked with oceanclubholidays.com. I found them very good. The Villa (Neptune) was spotless and cleaned thoroughly every day. Pool area was really lovely and the pool was heated. The Villa was lovely and spacious. Very well equipped. DVD etc included. They have Sky so you can bring your Sky card if you have one and are so inclined. When I booked with them I did so over the phone rather than online as you can bargain with them a bit that way. These are located about 8 mins walk from the Biosphera shopping centre. We walked most evenings but if you want to get a cab it's only 3 euro. I would highly recommend them. If you want more info you can pm me.

Saying that I'm just back from the Bungalows in Los Fariones Hotel and they were great too though more expensive.

Good, I might try them next time. I do not know about Alpharooms. Slim

OP - have you had any luck yet?

Hi, think we've found the perfect villa on holidaylettings.co.uk. So many to choose from and great search engine to find something within our budget. Got one for 10 days for around 1400euro which is close to resort and has all we need. Have to get the ball rolling now and sort the flights out. Just missed the Aer Lingus sale, flights about 40euro more now, not sure to book or hold out a couple of weeks and see if a sale comes up..... Don't want to chance flights going up in price either... Thanks for all the help!!

Lou2, the villa neptune, is the walk to the resort very steep? We had also seen nice villas in Los Mojones area but have seen reviews that this area can be very hilly/steep. Looking at map of villa neptune it is in a different area to Los mojones.

Good for you! Must be nice for that money!

Zippidydo - There are some hills alright. I wouldn't say it's very steep but some parts can be steepish. Saying that I was there with someone who was six weeks post op after a hip replacement and she could manage it. Similarly, I'll be going back there this time with a baby and buggy and will manage it. But it is hilly in places. But I suppose alot of PDC is like that. I think 1400 seems a bit on the pricey side to me. Did you bargain with them? What time of the year are you going? I'm just back from there and it's a lot lot quieter than it has been over the past few years so there should be some good deals in the villa rental market.

Have emailed owner but not confirmed a booking. Its a three bed villa with pool, 5 min walk to beach in Matagorda area. Maybe I will see if we can bargain the price down a bit. There are 5 of us sharing so I thought it sounded cheap. Will see if they can do any better.

Got villa reduced to 1300 euro. 3 Bed, 2 Bath, pool, near resort. Do you think I am still paying a bit too much? Said thats best they can do.

No, that seems like an alright price to me. At least you got them down a bit. Enjoy!
