What politicians do you like/admire?

He exposed the mistreatment of the Turkish Gama workers (kebabs to our Minister for Integration!) and is very hardworking..

I know, partly why I said "for some reason".

It's just 'like' rather than 'admire'. I think she's likeable/personable. Can't really explain it. There is a certain no nonsense robustness to her though.

I have to say I admire Pat Carey. Always sent out to face the media on difficult stories and always comes across as a decent man.

I think that with you, like most of us, it’s a case of bias from others is OK as long as it is in line with our own ones. Hey, you’re human.
