Withdrawing money abroad

Hi

Is there any thread which shows the cheapest means to withdraw cash from atms abroad - I will be in Central America for the summer and I'm wondering about the merits of getting a credit card for this purpose - All I have currently is a BOI Laser/ATM card with Cirrus/Maestro facility.(is there a percent charge like with CCs?)

Not very clear on whether a Credit Card linked to current account would work out cheaper.

Anyone have any experience with this?
