WIN WIN when you ask for charity donations instead of birthday presents.

I am self employed & at my recent party I "passed the hat around" for my favourite charity instead of accepting presents. Guests found this easy & liked the fact that amont could be anonymous unless it was by cheque. I really did not need wines, trinkets, perfumes, etc.. The charity got the cash plus publicity & I get benefit of tax allowance on my next return. If you are a PAYE worker the charity can claim on the donations.
Another "WIN" is the feeling you get that you have done something worthwhile for a really needy cause.
Think about it before sending out invites.
