Hi. Just a quick question ... is it considered a good idea to identify the person(s) you wish your children to be taken care of in your will in the event both parents die?

Many thanks

We've done it to save hassle, if god forbids, the situation arises. More so for peace of mind. Had it included in our will.

Definitely. You know best who you would like to raise your children hopefully in the manner that you would have done.

I found it much more comforting to know this was taken care of when the two of us sat into a car or headed off on a plane without the children.

If your kids are old enough, maybe it might be a good idea to ask them. We did this with our older two children and were plesently surprised with their choice.
In the end we also put a second relatives name down also for our peace of mind.
Oh and it would be a good idea to ask these people if they are willing to look after your children also. And maybe give them some idea of what way you would like them to bring them up etc.
