Which property can I buy in 2007 for 40,000 when my SSIA arrives ?

sign, visit Bulgaria and look under the surface, it's far better than I (or anyone else) advising on it. The country has some amazing parts, some very nice people and a lot going for it, but even with EU entry, it's not a place I'd be comfortable in for a time yet. There are lots of places to look through throughout eastern europe, not just Croatia or Bulgaria, but whatever you do I'm sure you'll be happy in it.

If I were you, I'd put the 40,000 in the highest rate deposit account you can find and use the interest to pay for a few city breaks in the region over the next year or so. Property prices aren't exactly shooting up in most cities in Central/Eastern Europe, so you have time to look around. You might come across a place that you really like but hadn't visited before - and have lots of fun in the process. The more research you do, the better chance you have of finding a place that suits you.
