Wedding in England - legal / church requirement?

Hi
I'm getting married in England this June. I'm Irish and my fiancee is English. It'll be a civil ceremony and I was wondering (have yet to ask direct) do I need anything from my own old church parish in Ireland? Some people have said I need 'permission/freedom' letter from my church to marry?

Hi got married in edinburgh three years ago (civil ceremony too). No need to contact your local church as civil. Im assuming you'v all govenmental paperwork completed as your getting married in June. Good luck with your planning and enjoy your day.
