My sister had travel insurance with getcover.ie which she let lapse recently and which she is finding it difficult to renew. She is still travelling in Fiji/Aus/NZ as a backpacker and needs to have new cover. I have looked at getcover.ie, multitrip.com and AIB and all require the insured to be resident in Ireland for 6 months prior to taking out the cover. As she is currently in Fiji and has been travelling for the past year she can’t meet the residency requirement.
Does anyone know where I could get her travel insurance cover without the residency requirement – the focus is on legal and medical cover – she can live with delayed flights, lost bags etc.
