My scan is indicating that some tracking cookies have been found on my system - I think some kind of virus email has been sent to some of my contacts. I have AVG anti-virus installed. What can I do about it?

Quite normal and usually harmless - AVG should tell you if it is something to be concerned about.

Why do you think this - because of the above? It's unlikely I would have thought.

I know emails have been sent because a friend rang me and said she had tried to install what I sent her! I then checked my sent emails and apparently I 'sent' an email to a number of people

When did you last update your virus definitions?

If it's a long time ago, try updating them and running AVG. That'll hopefully remove the virus.

If not you need to try another anti-virus application.
