timeframe on distributing estate

If a will is straightforward and undisputed, what is the typical timeframe involved once a death certificate has been issued?

(i.e. only child inherits from parent, other parent deceased for several years. Will only mentions the only child, straightforward inheritance of house and small amount of cash held in 2 bank accounts).
