Could anyone give advice on how to treat a special allowance/indemnity received "to defray other costs derived from contribution to, and participation in the work of" (a group). This allowance is paid in addition to a flat subsistence and travel rate.
I have travelled abroad a couple of times last year (in my own time, whilst on annual leave) to attend these meetings and I am wondering now how to go about taxing this, or how much of it, or at all?
