Sick certs + Job Sharing

Hi,

I work as a job sharer and have been off sick for the last few weeks due to pregnancy problems.

My doctor issues me with social welfare certificates every week including the time that I am not due in work, hence the social welfare are issuing me with social welfare cheques as if I work full time. I get full pay from my employer and submit all the social welfare cheques to them.

Does anybody know if this the standard procedure for job sharers ? my doctor insists he does this for all his patients who job share.

Am just worried as it is not representing the actually amount of sick leave that I am taking, for example I could be off 5 weeks but taking 10 weeks in terms for sick leave benefit.

Any advice would be very welcome.
