self employed Mat benefit qs?

Hi All

I am self employed dividing my time between consulting and setting up an on line trading web site. I am due a baby in next couple of weeks and am entitled to mat benefit. I won't be working on the consultancy business for a few months however I was hoping to launch the online business in the next month or so. My query is this, if I am selling items via my website and profit from sales is going into the business account am I still entitled to mat benefit?

You are not allowed do paid work while claiming maternity benefit, so no, you won't be entitled to it.
