Health Insurance Renewal January 2024 - Alternatives to Laya Connect Simplicity?

Just note that with Connect Simplicity there is a 20% shortfall for orthopaedic and ophthalmic cover but it is covered 100% with Simply connect if this is important to you.
 
thanks for that - just out of interest do the different Insurance companies have some way of identifying who has switched and upgraded their cover? Am sure people switch for various reasons and in some cases it would be very clear if someone has switched from a basic plan to a Rolls-Royce but in many cases it must be like Oranges v Apples...

The Upgrade Rule will stop anyone claiming on their improved in-patient cover for two years either way.

I can't speak for the other companies but with my policy with VHI they changed the rules on the day-to-day cover and the higher allowances kicked in immediately on renewal. AFAIK it used to be six months waiting period for that but it changed approx. last December.
