Registering for VAT

Hi,
I am a sole trader and run a private Speech and Language Therapy practice.

I am currently not registered for VAT as I was informed that I did not need to be for the current services I provide.

I am planning to branch out and to sell products as part of my business. I assume that I will need to register for VAT as part of this?

I am a bit unsure as to how this will work if I register for VAT with both sides of my business.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Aoife

It will depend on your turnover.

You currently provide a service. At 37,500 you will have to account for vat.

I'd engage an accountant. They are not expensive and can be invaluable.

Here's the revenue guide
