I was made redundant in November and got a redundancy payment. Got all the redundancy paperwork and received the money. Started looking for a job but to my surprise got a call from the old company saying that a totally different position had become available (some other staff resigned) and would I be interested.
What I am worried about is whether this will affect my redundancy payment and that if I go back the redundancy money will be treated as income and taxed as such. This makes is much less attractive to go back to the same company and take up that new position.
Can anyone clarify my position?
