I received a pre approved Bank of Ireland Gold card back sometime in the 1990's and an MBNA pre approved Gold card in the early 2000's.
With 20/20 hindsight I probably should have cut them up when I got them, but I didn't.
The Bank of Ireland card had a £3000 Punt limit on the first card to the best of my recollection. And the MBNA card had an initial limit of €3000, again to the best of my recollection.
The limits increased at times up to a maximum of €12000 for the BOI card and €6000 for the MBNA card. They both had somewhat disastrous ends years later but at times contributed to fun life experiences.
