Hi,

I've moved abroad at the start of the year, it took a little while for my employer to sort out the techicalities/legalities and get an entity setup in my new country so from January to now I've been on the Irish payroll but going forward and for more than half the year I'll be on payroll in my new country. I've been oficially tax resident in my new country since January.

My new country is in the EU and there's a double taxation agreement in place, this move was my decision and it is not a secondment.

it's more advantagious for me tax wise where I am now. Is it possible to reclaim the PAYE paid so far and then deal with my income taxes for the full year in my new country?

Thanks,

You will have to fill income tax returns in both countries for the year you moved

You may have to continue filing income taxes in Ireland if you have any Irish income in the following years - interest on savings, for example
