Just wondered after settlement and when all have agreed to pay and the letter has been issued, how long has the insurance company to pay up?

usually within 28 days. If not paid within that period and the claim was as a result of a motor accident, you can demand payment from MIBI, or apply to Courts to have insurer wound up.
