My mother in law is 80 and thinking of moving back to Ireland after living in the UK. She currently receives a full UK contributory pension and a small widows pension from the UK as well as small private pensions from UK companies. She also receives a small contributory pension from Ireland from 11 years working.
She has been told by other relatives that she will lose the Irish pension if she moves back here. I didn't think this would be the case at all but she is now quite distressed.
Please advise.
