I have been on sick from work for the last 3 weeks and getting state illness benifits, I've been working there for 16 years and have never been off sick before. Its stress related to my current job and it's just got too much for me.
I have applied for a new job in a different industry and it's looking like I might get it. I will have to meet with the new jobs HR next week and I'm sure they'll ask me about history of sickness etc. Do I need to tell them about my current time off. Will the illness benifit show up on my record??
I spoke to my current boss and they said they won't say anything about it if phoned for a reference, they have been very good about it. I'm just worried that this will be a negative mark against me for the new job.
