Hi,i am just wondering does anyone know when the 3 lane upgrade of the n 4 will be finished.Will it make a difference when it is as its a bit of a nightmare as far as Lucan.also with the luas going to lucan will this take cars off the road?.thanks..
It MIGHT take cars off the road, but that won't be for at least another couple of years. I'm not aware that they have started any work on the Luas at Lucan yet, unless it's blended into the massive building site which is the M50/N4/what-have-you.

The N4/M50 junction upgrade is due to complete in a few more months (was supposed to be late 2008, but I believe they are ahead of schedule), all the roads are in their final routing, lots of resurfacing/finishing needs to be done : http://www.m50.ie/pages/planyourjourney/n4-interchange.html
The upgrading of the Newcastle Road Junction and the N4 from the M50 to Leixlip is due to complete in late 2009
