Thinking of going over for a few days

Starts the 17th Sept runs I think till mid october

Tried Aer Lingus and bit pricey during the weekends but may keep an eye on it

Any other airlines go there or other other close by cities ?
 
It's Aer Lingus only to Munich

The German Low Cost carriers Germany Wings & HLX fly to Stuttgart, Hamburg & Cologne I think .. .none of which are particularly close to Munich at all. (And they're unlikely to be substantially cheaper than Aer Lingus anyway and probably well more expensive by the time you add in the train fare)

Ryanair fly to Franfurt (Hahn) ... might get a cheapy deal there ... though again Hahn is not very clost to Frankfurt and it would cost a bit to get a train from Frankfurt down to Munich
 
Was there a few years ago. You'll need to get accomodation sorted asap. I camped one night and hostel the other. Had to camp coz there wasn't a free bed in the city.
 
Go where the locals [broken link removed] and give the 'Septemberfest' a miss.

Not held outdoors but loads cheaper (drink and accomodation).
 
Fly to Salzburg and get the train up to munich ( about two hours) and ryanair fly to Salzburg so it works out a lot cheaper.
