Moving money to the UK?

Hello,

I will be moving my SSIA and cash from wedding presents to the UK next year. Can anyone tell me the tax/charges implications?

What is the cheapest way to do this? Any good UK banks that don't charge much for Euro transfers?

if u have a bank account with BOI then open an english one with BOI, just pay in a cheque for the amount. should be cheap and easy. if u are with a different ie UK bank I would assume u can pay in a cheque for euros and have it processed. Check with bank and dont be fobbed off with charges. they want your business.

our credit union has a credit transfer facility where they can lodge money directly into a sterling bank account i think its a flat rate fee
