Maternity leave in 2008

Hi all,

We are going to have a baby in may 2008, so I am wondering how long are the paid and unpaid periods of maternity leave for "post 1st of March" in 2008?

(I tried looking around the web, but all I found was info for 2006 and 2007)

AFAIK there is no change due to maternity leave, so the entitlements in 2007 will be the same in 2008.

If there is going to be a change for 2008, it will be announced at budget time in December. Until then, as terrysgirl says, the 2007 entitlements will apply.

It will be 26 weeks with statutory maternity benefit, option of 16 weeks unpaid also.

As far as i know it is increasing by another 4 weeks paid but im not sure from when. I think its to bring us in line with UK.
