First time poster but long time user of aam.
Currently been with Laya for the last number of years and feel that we can avail of better scheme plans and save a significant chuck of money as well.

Parent: 61 on Control 150 secure
Parent: 62 on Control 150 secure

Son: 26 on Essential Family Connect
Son: 24 on Essential Family Connect

Renewal quote for the above is just over 5.9k for the next year. Have spent quite a lot of hours already comparing and analyzing plans over and over to find suitable alternatives, but would like to get some advice on whether they are comparable / suitable to the cover we all ready have.
Looking to possibly switch both Parents to some of the following plans: Simplicity, Control 150 Create, Control 150 Total, Control 150 Connect
Son 26 to Signify & Son 24 to Signify Plus
Renewal date is 01/01/20.
Would appreciate some feedback if the above plans are good choices in respect to old quotes or any new recommendations either.
Thanks.

Hi keving1989,

Another plan worth considering is Laya Connect Simplicity @ price 1367pa. This is similar to Simplicity plan but with a 1 euro excess for day to
day benefits. Inpatient excesses are slightly higher, but are capped 150 x 2 max per year. Unused day to day benefits can be transferred to
your wife and vice versa if you both pick this plan. Both Simplicity and Connect Simplicity are worth considering to make savings.

For your sons, VHI are most competitive on price. VHI One Plan 250 is worth considering, which achieves more savings.
Price for 24 year old; 710pa;
Price for 26 year old; 896pa;
All public and private hospitals covered, private excess capped at 250 x 2 max per year for all admissions, day case excess 150 per procedure.
No excess to pay in any public hospital.

VHI Smart plans are cheaper again, but there is a selected list of public and private hospitals covered on these plans. If the hospitals covered suit
your location, these are also worth it.

Thanks for you help its much appreciated. We are past the renewal date so I don't think I am able to switch provider now.
In terms of the signify plans for both sons would there be any other similar plans you would recommend that are with Laya

Your renewal date was 1st January 2020, but you still have 14 days after renewal date to change your mind if you want to. Its called a
cooling off period and you are entitled to change plans or change to a different company altogether if you want.
This means that switching your sons to VHI is still very much a live option, upto 14th January 2020, no problem at all attached.
It makes perfect sense to make savings.
