What specific question do you have or what issues are of concern to you?
Relocating to Galway for work (promotion), wife will not sell or rent property in Dublin as it's home and son in college in Dublin. Rent for this would be circa 1500 per month.
Will receive 80,000 inheritance in coming weeks, wife likely to receive insurance claim of similar amount before end of year.
Unable to get mortgage to purchase property in Galway so looking at renting a room. 300 to 400per month. Plan at the moment is to eventually buy two bed and rent other room. Location we plan to buy would rent for 500 per month and half household bills.
Looking for advice on what to do with 80,000 inheritance and anything else that stands out. I feel my pension is far too small. Is it worth paying down mortgage at 2.3%?
Wifes claim will go towards rehabilitation. She has no pension and no employment prospects in short term (3 to 5 years)
