Hi everyone,

Does anyone know what the current interest rates are in credit unions & post offices at the moment? Is there a bank that offers a better interest rate on savings?
Also, someone told me lately that if there is 100,000 or more in savings in a credit union then they begin to charge a tax on this. Is this correct? Thanks-

Hi everyone,

An Post rates are here: http://www.anpost.ie/AnPost/MainCon.../Savings+and+Investments/savings_invest.htm?P

Credit Union rates vary from CU to CU.
According to the Sunday Business Post 25% of CU's currently pay zero percent interest. Most others pay very little more.

Is there a bank that offers a better interest rate on savings?

Yes, for instant access accounts, regular saver accounts, 6 month term deposits, 1 year TD's and 2 years TD's you can get much better rates with banks.

An Post currently offer the best 3 year and 5.5 year term deposit rates.

What type of savings account do you want?
