Inheritance & CGT

Hopefully you can help here. A friend of mine has lost his mother recently. The dilemma is that her house is going to be sold and he is going to inherit the profit.
My question is:
If the house is sold for €1000,000 is there a CGT liability first and then a inheritance tax liability if they exceed the €310,000 threshold?
Thanks in advance

What does "inherit the profit" mean?

If the Executor sells the house for more than the value at the date of death, the Executor will be liable for CGT.

Your friend will receive the net proceeds and will pay the appropriate CAT on those.
