Tenants moved into the apartment in June 2015. I was thinking about increasing the rent from June 2017, giving 90 days notice. However, if the new legislation is passed, will I be only able to increase the rent by 4%?
What if I notified them now of the proposed rent increase in June 2017, ie before the new legislation is introduced?
(It may not matter but the rent they are paying is well below the current rental prices in the area. And the proposed increase will still be below the average in the area. The proposed rent increase would be 10%.)
