If IMF Take Over - Will I loose my Savings!

I'm sure this has been discussed b4 but I cant find the thread. If IMF do move in, will I loose all or part of my savings, which amount to only 40k spread over NR/AnPost Bond/Halifax regardless of the government protection schemes or wil they still be honoured.
 
The IMF may renege on the deposit guarantee, but I doubt they would have the power to confiscate any personal savings.
