I want to do a surprise trip to Dublin 17th august and maybe go to croke park. What I need is a fairly good hotel in centre and best way to get to croker. I only know Gresham in dublin but dont want to be in hotel with loads of suprorters, 3 star or better. Other half likes .. shooping and shows.

And how do I get tickets for crojer, have to be seats and low down?

Westbury looks good - bit expensive but right off Grafton St.

Hilton Dublin. It's right beside a Luas stop which will get you to Stephen's Green in 4 or 5 minutes. Hotel is in quiet location overlooking Grand Canal at the the city end of Rathmines but a only a stone's throw from all of the action.

I have got room here for as cheap as €159 including buffet breakfast - that's where I get value for my money when I'm hungover :)

Try [broken link removed] 3 nights bed and breakfast and 1 evening meal in 3* hotel for €119 per person. Good choice of Dublin hotels on the site at the moment. You will not get better value for that price.

Firstly I see the match will be the All Ireland hurling semi final with Tipperary definitely playing one of the winners of the qualifiers.
Tickets shouldn't be a problem either at local outlets (check local press nearer time) or online at ticketmaster or indeed any ticketmaster outlet.
As for hotels, well take your pick.
OCallaghans hotels have a few to choose from:

And of course Jurys Inns - normally good value 3* hotels:

Checkout tripadvisor too.
If it was me, for a treat I would go minimum 4* and head for Grafton St area - Westbury, Brooks, Merrion, Shelbourne, but I just remembered you said 3 nights so maybe not !! Shop around as there should good value 3 night breaks available depending if it is the weekend or midweek.
