I have an alarm. But I don't mention it because to avail of the discounts it needs to be installed properly, serviced regularly and you also are supposed to put it on. (Which I rarely do during the day if I leave the house briefly)€450 for 380k blds, 62k contents, 3 bed plus attic conversion bungalow detached, Zurich, includes 30 of broker fee
Don't have an alarm but even if I had I wouldn't use it to get a discount, always a dodgy one because no one turns them on as much as they should.
I think you would need to provide more details as to what exactly the quote is covering to compare like for likeHi just curious on what people are paying on average for house insurance. I got a renewal quote of over 500 euro with axa. I live in a 3 bed semi. Have house alarm.
If you fail to declare one as such, they may refuse cover for the fixtures and fittings.Does an ensuite shower room count as a bathroom?
Hmm, that's interesting I havn't heard about tis previously. Any clauses about increases if you make a claim? With Zurich. My renewal mid last year. Quote up about E70 on previous year - never had a claim. Rang them and they reduced to previous year cost - they quoted an offer on the original quote to do a three year deal at current price - I got them to agree at the reduced level so I did a three year deal at that stage - downside was I had to the pay the three years up front - upside was I fixed the cost at 2022 price up to 2026.
