Help Please

Hi unfortunately I broke a red light on december 27th 2005
and was stopped by a gardai
I was asked to produce my insurance at my local garda station and then was told that i would be reciving a summons
I completely forgot to produce my insurance and have been worrying and waiting to get a summons but still have not recived one.
A friend of mine told me that there is nothing that can happen me now as It has passed one year and a day and that once it has you cannot be charged
I would be glad if somebody could confirm this or tell me the situation

As far as I know the Gardai for this particular offence have only 6 months from the date of offence to make an application for a summons. You might have been lucky that it was one of those young free flow!!! lads and they were sent somewhere else.

I hope that is the case as I dont want to lose my licence as I work in a garage and need it.

But the offence was over 12 months ago so how can he be summonsed now?
